And you were gonna tell us when? Or just not at all?

My husband and I have been dog and cat owners for most of our entire lives and have loved every minute of it. We refer to them as our “furry” children and treat them as such with lots and lots of love and loads of pampering!

The pampering for our dogs includes professional grooming every eight weeks. We’ve gone through four dog groomers so far, with the last one leaving us just dumbfounded when he announced he was retiring to Puerto Rico in eight days and wished us luck in finding a new groomer! This is how it happened:

We hired Bob, groomer no. 4, sometime in the fall of 2009, after groomer no. 3, who was going through personal issues of her own, quit without giving notice. She was our dogs’ groomer for at least three years. She was great and always made our kids look fabulous! The dogs just loved her, and we still miss her a lot. Back to Bob.

The kids’ first appointment with Bob in 2009 went well, so we set up an every eight-week grooming schedule for 2010. Last Saturday, April 3rd, Bob came at his appointed time and groomed the dogs. When my husband handed Bob his check and confirmed the kids’ next grooming appointment, Bob made his retirement announcement! Yes, eight days from April 3rd he would be retiring to Puerto Rico!  So, Bob, you were gonna tell us when?  Or simply not at all? Had we not mentioned your next appointment, we would’ve been waiting and waiting for you on May 29th, without ever knowing you had retired to Puerto Rico. To that we say, Thanks for the notice, and Good Luck, Bob!  As for us, well, we’re on the hunt for a new mobile pet groomer.  Stay tuned!

Bob’s loss is another groomer’s gain because your girls are wonderful. Adios, Bob!
