I wasn’t going to watch this year’s season finale of American Idol, but I did anyway because this was Simon Cowell’s last appearance. I’ve always liked Simon – he truly was the star of the show no matter what, and his critiques were 99% spot on every time. I’m glad I watched the show ’cause it was fun and it was an emotional night for Simon. And there were many surprise guest performances by Miss Janet Jackson, Carrie Underwood and Bret Michaels, to name a few! Janet looked amazing and sounded great, altho’ on the first two songs (“Again”/”Nothing”) she very much sounded like Michael Jackson. It was almost hard to distinguish her voice from his. Nevertheless, the songs were pretty. But then she totally rocked on “Nasty.” OMG, I loved it! Carrie looked and sounded amazing, as always. This girl has it all! When she appeared on the show in season 4, my husband and I predicted from the start that Carrie would win. And then there was Bret!! He is my latest hero! I love that guy – I love his outlook on life and his will to fight and overcome any obstacle that stands in his way. He also is amazing!
