I heard this song by Edison Lighthouse on the radio just the other day, which put me in a super happy mood. It also made me smile big and think back to when the song came out in 1970, when I was age … wow! That would be a whopping 40 years ago when I was so young, and life was simpler, kinder and more innocent! And, yes, it dates me. But never mind, okay?!
I loved the song when it first aired and I still do to this day, and it’s on my iPod. And then I checked out YouTube to see if I could find the music video. There are quite a few, one of which purports to be the original Edison Lighthouse but it’s not. Edison Lighthouse, a U.K. pop group, initially consisted of studio musicians that served as a vehicle for session vocalist Tony Burrows and songwriter/record producers Tony Macaulay and Barry Mason to record this great song, which became a million-selling record. I just love, love, love this song!!
